Setback

Today we faced a setback in Isaac’s recovery. He had another temp spike this morning and they gave some motrin and some nutrients to try and control it. That didn’t work well. After labs were taken, they discovered Isaac has an infection in his blood. They are conducting cultures to try and determine what the infection is. His temp got real high and he had another episode of violent chills/shaking. They started him on a broad antibiotic and used ice packs to control his temp. We very thankful tonight during the visit to find the temp had decreased to 99.5 and he was resting well. We had a sweet time of quiet worship and prayer in his room tonight. I know God is holding Isaac in his right hand. We can only trust in him. The nurses on the floor have been such a blessing. When we forgot the words to one of the songs, one joined in to keep us on track. She did that and was still able to draw blood. Amen! We were so blessed to hear that several nurses have shared what God has been doing in them through all of this. The testimony of everyone praying, those gathered in the waiting room joining hands in prayer and those praying in Isaac’s room has been convicting several to pursue a stronger walk and faith. One nurse said she is going to start going to church again. Thank you, Jesus.

It’s a very hard place we are in right now, but we are seeing God glorified in so many ways. Please pray the doctors can identify the infection and treat it. Of course, God simply removing the infection would be a huge praise as well. We prayed tonight that God would transfuse Isaac’s blood with the spotless blood of the lamb. Do Your work, Lord. The infection and extra medicine in Isaac’s system can prove to be a setback for Isaac. We’re praying that God will continue to heal and restore Isaac’s mind even while the other things have become the priority for doctor’s to focus on. Thanks for keeping Isaac in the throneroom of grace by your prayers. We believe in You, Lord. Heal Isaac.

Silvia is doing better. I spoke with her uncle and he shared she may be able to leave in a week. Thank you, Lord.

Thank you for standing in the gap for Isaac. You’re an incredible blessing!
