Breath!

We are praising God for His unfailing love! The doctors pulled Isaac off the respirator to do some more pulmonary tests prior to surgery today. He was on the respirator all day Sunday, because they pulled out the chest tube and wanted to ensure the lungs were being fully expanded to prevent infection. Isaac had a slow start this morning with breathing on his own, but then God gave him breath! The doctors watched and tested him, then determined they would extubate him, removing the respirator completely. He is breathing fabulously and is not expected to have the tracheotomy. He is so relaxed now since the tubes have been removed. He can’t lay still in bed . . . He who Christ set free is free indeed; even when he’s confined to a bed. They were going to draw blood to check his levels to ensure he was getting a good exchange of O2 but didn’t even have to perform the test because of how well he was doing. Just following the extubation, he opened his eyes twice for me; just momentarily, but enough to fan into flames our hope for his soon awakening. The nurse said he opened his eyes a couple of times for her this afternoon. One time he was facing to the right and turned to her on the left when she called his name. God is doing a miraculous work in, and through, Isaac. There is quite a cheer team amidst the workers in the ICU. The have been wonderful in allowing us to sing praises, pray, read the Word, and even play guitar in Isaac’s room. I know God is present, and is being felt by everyone that even comes close to his room. We are overwhelmed by the move of God and the calling to attention the many churches and thousands of believers worldwide to intercede on behalf of Isaac, Hannah, Kristi and all of our family. I was told that the Clovis Christian School held a 1-hr prayer vigil this morning, praying specifically and expecting to see God move. He did! Thanks to all of you who are standing in the gap for our family and the Teague family. Your love and prayers are helping to see us through this most difficult time in our lives. We don’t know what we are facing next, but we know that when we just seek the face of God, He will see us through it in His most awesome way! We are trusting Him for a complete healing in Isaac’s mind and body. We have been praying Ps 20 over Isaac daily, as well as Ps 33, 34, 118, and many more. Thank you for the fervent, effectual prayers. We love you deeply . . . God loves you more! Receive His unfailing love to see you through whatever you are facing today. He hears your cries and petitions, and will answer from heaven. “We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O Lord, even as we put our hope in you.” (Ps 33:20-22)
